Tailoring Options
The Wellness Leadership
Training should reflect your organization’s goals and
needs. Such tailoring is available without charge to
organizations with 30 or more training participants.
Tailoring is also available for a fee to organizations
with
fewer training participants. The revised training content is
incorporated into a new training site with a unique
Internet address.
We are open to your suggestions for adapting
the Wellness Leadership Training to your needs. The
following suggestions offer a good starting place for
your tailoring efforts.
- The
first course unit teaches leaders to share the
program vision and to explain how employees can
participate. Pages could be added that specifically
describes your current program, its goals, and how
employees can get involved.
- Online discussion groups could be created to foster a
dialogue about wellness leadership
strategies.
- Best
practices listings can be added to the website. Completed homework
assignments are good sources for best practice
examples. Typically, the instructor would identify
best practices and add them to lists available
on the website or email the best practices to
course participants.
- The
third course unit examines ten cultural touch points
that shape the workplace environment
(link to
touch point descriptions). Participants are
encouraged to think of ways by which they will
modify the touch points to better support healthy
lifestyles. This lesson could be further refined by
adding web pages that describe current
organization-wide efforts that support healthy
lifestyle choices. Current strengths and initiatives
provide a helpful starting point for leadership
involvement.
